The tour, which spanned five continents and featured 149 performances, concluded with a three-night series in Vancouver, Canada, marking the end of a whirlwind journey from March 2023 through late 2024. Zhang Qi, the deputy director of Shanghai's culture and tourism bureau, told The Paper that he and other city officials had participated in meetings with Swift's team to discuss the possibility of new shows.
"As for whether it can take place in the end, we feel that it will have to depend on the market and the attractiveness of the city of Shanghai," said Zhang Qi. "But we are optimistic that there may be hope this year."

Shanghai, a major financial hub, is the most populous city in China, with 24.2 million residents. However, China boasts numerous other enormous cities that would likely welcome multiple Taylor Swift concerts. Swift's Eras Tour became the first tour to earn over $1 billion in revenue, ultimately grossing over $2 billion.
